Khajurbanni Hooch Case Defendant Nabbed After 5 Years

Patna: After more than five years of Khaijurnni Hooch Tragedy, the Gopalganj police managed to capture Rupesh’s main accusation Shukla aka Pandit (40) from neighboring Siwan countries on Saturday night.
It was the first HOOCH tragedy after the implementation of the legal ban in the state on April 5, 2016.
Shukla was the only one who had been accused of avoiding the arrest since the incident of August 16, 2016 where 19 people died in Khajurbanni under the City Police Station in the Gopalganj district.
Nagina PASI and eight male members of their families were awarded the death penalty by special excise in Gopalganj on March 5 this year.
Four family members were sentenced to life in prison in the same case.
Shukla was declared abscoonser in court.
Shukla was arrested in the heat of 43 reported HOOCH’s death in Gopalganj, West Champaran and Samastipur since Diwali Hawa, which led to the hard action throughout the state by smuggling liquor.
Gopalganj SP Anand Kumar said Shukla was arrested from the area Bangali Pakhri under the leading post of Mahadeva police from Siwan City where he lived with a false identity and produced a livelihood by selling vegetables.
He belongs to Jalalpur Village under the Jamo Police Station area in Siwan.
Incidentally, before the arrest of Shukla, punished Nagina Pasi, who used to receive raw spirits, homeopathic drugs, and other chemicals from him for the manufacture of hooch in Khajuri, died at Patna Medical College and Hospital where he was undergoing kidney treatment.
“We have received information about PASI’s death,” SP said.
The City Police Station Gopalganj Kumar Lallan Kumar said Shukla was used to smuggle certain homeopathy drugs and raw spirits from Kolkata and other places and supply it to PASI for the manufacture of hooch in Khujbanni.
“Shukla admitted that he began to smuggle raw materials for Hooch as soon as a complete ban was enforced in the state.
He also uses Hooch in Khurjbanni,” Sho said.
Kumar said Shukla was used to mix four liters of water in a liter of homeopathic medicine before selling it to Pasi for the manufacture of hooch.
He had fled to Patna and then to Kerala.
He returned to Siwan in February last year.
