Kalaburagi: Opposition leader at Rajya Saba and Senior Congress leader Malikarjun Kharge reached out to JD (s) leadership to secure support from four party corporators to risk power claims at the Kalaburagi City Council Corporation (KCC).
BJP, however, has spoken with senior leaders JD, including the leader of the state minority wing of the state of Nasir Hussain.
JD (s) Corporators selected for the KCC Board has explained that they will offer their support only for parties that will offer them the Mayor’s post.
Nasir Hussain said that, while his party was open to the alliance with the congress and JD (s), no one from the Congress spoke with the leadership of the regional party.
“There was no leader of the Karnataka Congress who spoke to JD (s) Leadership until the Kharge veteran leader reached out to us.
Former Chairman of the HD Minister Kumaraswamy has explained that JD (s) Corporators will extend support only to the party who offers the mayor’s seat, and that is Our final decision.
It was not enough for the Congress to only claim it was a secular party.
