RANCHI: Sowing of kharif crops such as paddy has begun in a number of areas of Jharkhand, because of the timely start of monsoon this year combined with great quantity of pre-monsoon showers which have generated a congenial atmosphere for farmers to prepare their own areas.

Monsoon entered Jharkhand on Saturday through Sahibganj and Pakur districts.
