Times News Network Varanasi: To encourage rural youth for sports and give them the same opportunity platform, the Mega ‘Khelo Banaras-2021’ event will be held by all 694 grams of Panchayats from the district of October 21.
Qualified youth will participate in events at the block and district level.

The website has been developed by combining youth welfare, basic education, secondary education, the Pancayati Department of Raj and Sport.
Every district village will host this event to provide the same opportunity to young people from the rural belt.
In addition to several Sprint events in the 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1500m and 3000m category, including hammer throwing, Javelin, a discus throw, long and high jumps will be held in athletics, Goyal said added that the village Panchayat level event will be held on October 21.
Wrestling contests for women and men will be held in five heavy categories each while the volleyball, Kabaddi and Kho-Kho will also be organized in every pancayat, he said.
The winner of the Panchayat Gram Level event will compete at the 108 level of the Linya Panchayat on October 23 to qualify for level block competition, he added.
Quality youth in this sports category will compete at the block level on October 25, said goyal.
Weightlifting events will be added in the competition at the block level, he said adding that the youth who qualified for the final round will participate in the district level contest on October 29 and 30, he added.
All events at each level will take place under 16 and the age group more than 16.
According to the calculation of the official following the village of Panchayat round 30,536 winners are expected to be eligible for the event of the Linya Panya level while 13,392 is expected to be eligible for block levels.
Goyal said that 1,536 rural youth in the category of individuals and teams tend to be eligible for district level events where each contest will take place for the first, second and third prize.
Goyal said that prizes will be distributed among 428 winners at the district level.
