‘Kiifb Intervention delays the road project’

Written by news2in

Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala Infrastructure Investment Fund Council (Kiifb) came to criticism from MLA in front of the ruling in the Assembly on Friday by citing that impractical intervention by the body in project implementation caused delays in various projects.
The subject also led to mild confusion in the policy matters between the PWD minister of a Mohammed Riyas and the Minister of Revenue K Rajan.
Increasing this issue as a concern, MLA KB Ganesh Kumar said that the work on Jalan Pathhanapuram Enath was stopped through a memo stop by officials from Kiifb, on the grounds that the work must begin only after the land acquisition of 13 meters wide for a seven-meter wide road.
The memo stopped was issued after the court cleared the work award after a dispute between two contractors and then the Minister of PWD G Sudhakaran had formalized the job.
“Land for the width of the road needed is available and the work can be started.
But now some officials from Kiifb have issued a memo stop that citing land must be obtained for roads 13 meters, only after that work can begin.
At least 200 houses and other institutions Like the center of religion, etc.
on the proposed land which means that the acquisition will take years to resolve, “said Ganesh.
He also criticized the survey which was the cause of other delays.
Supporting criticism of Ganesh, a n Shamseer said that the problem raised by Ganesh must be seen as a general sentiment of all MLA at home.
Replying to Ganesh, PWD and tourism minister Mohammed Riyas said that even though there were several problems in several places, general rules could not be changed and all MLA was the beneficiary of the project through Kiifb.
He said that the government would think of appointing an independent survey for Kiifb projects, which was immediately done by income and surveys, and said that the survey would only be done through the survey department.
However, Riyas put this problem to rest immediately by stating that the comment of the Minister of Revenue was based on a misunderstanding and he did not intend to make another survey team from the survey department.
Meanwhile, the ruling front emerged with the argument that two ministers could not find contradictory policies in the assembly.
However, this problem is given without further discussion.
