Bhubaneswar: Kalinga Institute of Technology Industry (Kiit) Bhubaneswar, which is considered a university, and the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Rourkela has been ranked in the 801-1000 category in the latest time of higher education (The) World University Rankings announced on Thursday.
While IIT Bhubaneswar secured rank in the band 1001-1200, Siksha O Anusandhan (SOA) which was considered a university, Bhubaneswar, was ranked in the 1201+ category.
The official source of the Kiit said the institution rose 200 places globally ranked.
“This is a significant increase from last year when we reached 1001+ rating.
The performance of the Kiit made it a number one university in Odisha,” said official communication issued by the institution.
Achyuta Samanta, the founder of the Kiit and Kiss, said, “Kiit’s performance in this ranking is important because this is a multi-disciplinary university.
If it became an institution that only offered a technical course, it would reach a much higher ranking.”
