Jaipur: A special team of police Jaipur was arrested on Tuesday the main shooter in the killing of the National Highway Project Authority (NHAI) Rajinder Kumar Chawla (64) in Jaipur on August 26.
Chawla was allegedly shot over the NHAI project.
To build footbridges along the national highway 8 connect Delhi and Jaipur.
So far, the police have arrested six people in this case.
On September 3, the police have arrested the implementing director of the company based in Haryana, E5 Infrastructure Private Ltd, Karandeep Sheoran (29), along with three employees – Naveen Bisla (31), Vikas Singh (33) and Amit Nehra (33) and Amit (26) – in the case.
On Saturday, another shooter, Dharmendra Singh, was arrested from Haryana.
DCP (West) Richa Tomar said Ramdhiya, the main shooter in Chawla’s murder, was arrested on Tuesday and efforts were being carried out to restore murder weapons.
Dharmendra and Ramdhiya, both Panipat residents in Haryana, were given Rs 15 Lakh to kill Chawla, said DCP Ram Singh additional.
“The two men were told to wait in a park near the NHAI office in the Vaishali Nagar area in Jaipur.
Around 2pm (on August 26), another defendant, Naveen, met them to give a complete description of Chawla,” Singh said.
Moments later, police said, when Chawla allegedly stepped out of the meeting with representatives from the Multi-Crore Haryanabased highway construction company, both shooters were signaled.
“The shooters went near Chawla, and Ramdhiya fired it from close range.
Ramdhiya and Dharmendra then took the car to take a bus to Gurgaon, from there, another suspect, Shekhar, picked them up and transport them to their village,” Singh added.
The police claimed the two men were asked to reach Gurgaon on August 25.
The next day, they consumed several narcotics before leaving for Jaipur.
“We have formed a special team to track all vehicles that have passed the location on crime day.
This zjevability helps us uncover all conspiracies,” Singh added.
Further probes are taking place to ensure the involvement of other suspects in conspiracy, he said.
