Chandigarh: The Punjab government plans to provide work to family members around 220 farmers, who lost their lives during agitation of three agricultural laws.
Congress Amritsar (West) Mla Raj Kumar Verka said the identification of affected families was carried out and they will be offered soon.
“Most of these farmers died in Haryana or Delhi, but the two governments have not taken steps to give them relieved,” he said.
In January, the Chairman of the Punjab Minister Amarinder Singh had announced that his government would provide work to one family member from each country who died during farmer agitation at the Delhi border.
The offer of government work comes besides compensation ₹ 5 lakh which will be provided to the family.
