Karachi: The former Pakistani test captain and famous Commentator Rameez Raja’s Name conducted a round to replace Ehsan Mani as Chair of the Pakistani Cricket Board.
The king did not respond to calls and messages but the media report said that Imran Khan’s prime minister, who was also a patron-in-head of the council had decided to oppose his extension after his tenure ended in August.
“In the next few days, PM will send two names to PCB government boards for the election of the chairman and the members will choose one of them as chairman,” a source on PCB was confirmed.
He said when they heard the name Rameez as one of two candidates for a prestigious position but no one was confirmed.
The source was originally the names of Mani and Asad Ali Khan, a senior bureaucrat had been mentioned as two candidates for leadership but now it seems that PM decided to leave for a former captain.
“Ramez seems to be the ideal candidate because he is highly educated, experienced, and has international contacts because of his years that has been going on during commentators.
He also still has CEO of the council in the past and only left because the time of urgent commitment,” said the source.
Apparently Imran Khan, he himself had a former captain under Who Rameez played and was part of the 1992 World Cup, felt it was time for a former player to run cricket affairs in the country.
Another source said Gan Mani also expressed reluctance to continue another period of time due to health problems.
The government and the Board have appointed a retired judge, Azmat Sheikh as election commissioner to carry out the election process for the post chairman.
