New Delhi: Kiren Rijiju, BJP MP from Arunachal West, on Wednesday vowed the Union cabinet minister.
Rijiju is the State Minister (Independent Load) Ministry of Youth and Sports Affairs; and Minister of State for minority affairs in the government of Narendra Modi.
He was the State Minister for Houses in the first term of the BJP government.
Rijiju took an oath as a minister of cabinet at a function in Rashtrapati Bhavan in front of the Prime Minister and Senior BJP leader.
Rijju became Minister of Youth and Sports Affairs after the government led by BJP returned to the office in the 2019 Lok Sabha poll.
Over the past two years, he has been associated with several initiatives in the sports ministry including the Indian Fit Movement.
Rijiju has articulated and worked for the purpose that India won a medal at the Olympics in two digits.
He has actively encouraged the contingent to be bound to the Tokyo Olympics.
After the athlete reached the qualification for the Olympics, Rijju was always the first to congratulate them.
Many athletes have been seeking Rijiju help on social media for various reasons and ministers have not refused their requests.
While inaugurating the Narendra Modi Stadium at Ahmedabad, Rijiju said the country headed to the sports house.
