Pune: BJP leader Kirit Somaiya was allegedly managed by Sena workers at Pune Municipal Corporation on Saturday when he went there to discuss with the authorities, alleged irregularities in the Covid Jumbo hospital contract.
Sena’s man allegedly prevented him from entering the building and demanded that he accept their memorandum to lodge deviations at Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC).
When Somaiya refused, they were suspected of Gherrao and persecuted him.
Somaiya fell on steps in the commotion and was taken to the Sancheti Hospital for treatment.
Dr.
Parag Sancheti, Chair of the Sancheti Hospital, said Somaiya had high blood pressure, which was needed to be controlled.
“He also has a severe consteness of his wrist and bone The leader of the BJP Ravindra Salegaonkar, who was with Somaiya before that day, said the latter had visited the Shivajinagar police station to register complaints about the Covid Center contract management.
“He was released when he went to the PMC building for further discussion,” he said.
