Padukone shares, “Komposer Pyarellal once revealed to me that Kishore Kumar initially refused to record Mujra-Qawali ‘Vaada Vaada’ who knocked because he felt that this song was perfect for the sound of Mohd Rafi Saab.
Even superstar Rajesh Khanna could not convince Kishore Da To sing the song.
In the end, Laxmi Ji got a brainwave and politely to Kishore that they might have to drop extraordinary songs completely and persuade him at least try to sing once.
In the end Kishore relented and when the film was released, that the lyrical song was written by Anand Bakshi Saab is a large recurring value with mass.

Padukone also revealed that Rajesh Khanna won a lot of praise for her daring effort to oppose her romantic image in ‘Dushman’, playing a ‘anti-hero’ truck driver, who was accused of driving and drunk murder.
He also tricked his acting talent on the screen with Meena Kumari who was legendary.
