COIMbatore: What began as a trial six months ago during locking has now grown into a vegetable park that developed with more than 20 vegetable varieties at the Ajk College of Arts and Science at Navakkarai.Vegetables planted on campus sufficient for students’ management science and hotel for Do cooking classes.

“We experimented with 35 types of vegetables and found that we could successfully grow 20 including broccoli, cauliflower, fenugreek, red pumpkin, cherry tomatoes, spinach and cucumber.
We don’t need to get vegetables from the market for practical sessions anymore,” he told Ti.
Bidhu, who lives on campus, is maintaining a park with the help of his students.
“We have begun to grow herbs such as Thyme and Basil.
Students make herbal drinks last week by utilizing herbs planted here.
Every week, we make soup made of vegetables and flowers.
Such practices will improve student culinary skills and improve Their profile when they came out, “said Secretary of Higher Education Ajeet Kumar Lal Mohan.
Vegetables are planted organically.
“Vegetable gardens are another step to create a sustainable campus.
This is one of the green campuses with trees and limited concrete infrastructure.
We plan to run all campuses with immediate non-conventional energy sources,” added Ajeet.
