CHENNAI: Minister PK Sekar Babu explained that the section of Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments (HR&CE) will expand Covid-19 relief kits to 14000 temple leaders, Battachariyas and personnel, who didn’t get their yearly wages.
Rs 4000 and 10 kgs of rice and markets will soon be distributed to the beneficiaries.
As many as 34,000 temples beneath the constraint of HR & CE division created significantly less than Rs 10,000 because of their yearly earnings.
In 12,959 temples, the priests and Bhattacharyas generally do not get their monthly wages and depend on the offerings made by the devotees, the Union for HR and CE PK Sekar Babu explained.
Because of this lockdown, they have been left with no earnings.
After representations by the group seeking help from the authorities, the HR&CE chose to offer the depended dependent on instructions in chief Union M Stalin.
The Union issued an arrangement to disperse Rs 4,000 and relief kits comprising 10 kg of rice and also 15 supermarket substances.
“Practically 14,000 priests, both Battacharyars, and temple employees will gain from this.
The aid support will be prolonged on prior CM M Karunanidhi’s birth anniversary (on June 3),” the ministry stated.
