Kanpur: Even about two and a half months have been abandoned in the current financial year to expire, the authority of the Kanpur Municipal Corporation (KMC) is considering beginning to realize home tax because most of the staff will be engaged in electoral assignments.
KMC officers have directed zonal officers to start taking action on tax pruning and collecting taxes to achieve their target of their zone who own home tax arrears more than Rs 10,000 and issue notice to them.
If they fail to pay taxes in time, start the process of attachment property and take other steps, orders declared inspectors who use unfair ways to benefit the tax.
“Because there are only two and a half months for the current financial year to end and most of the KMC staff, including officers, will be involved in the assignment of elections, therefore, tax collection jobs will be influenced, therefore, prepare for a tax billing process”, said Commissioner The city asked the additional city commissioner to conduct an investigation into this matter, the investigation was still delayed.
According to sources, some cases have been reported from zones 2, 3 and 5 where some tax inspectors have the deplo of the personal people to help them in tax collection.
Things are being asked, said a top KMC official.
