KMC is faced with the Hawkers ‘streamlining’ assignment

Kolkata: Kolkata Municipality Corporation High-ranking officials present in front of their brains on how to free the sidewalks of city seizure, given that thousands of vendors have taken over the majority of sidewalks for business.
In some of the busiest “Hawker” goals, some vendors can be seen occupying even some roads, their merchandise spilled from the sidewalk.
After taking his oath as Mayor of Kolkata on Tuesday, Firhad Judge expressed displeasure for vendors in all cities that did not comply with the rules.
The judge said the effort to persuade snack traders to avoid plastic sheets they used to cover the kiosks and items because they were not just a fire danger but also made for the scenery.

The scene was as bad as garawan.
After a large fire broke out in Garatat three years ago, KMC had imposed a ban using plastic sheets to cover the kiosk.
The KMC boss has ordered the official workshop manager of the Civic Agency to produce a special kiosk for garawan vendors, which mostly will be fireproof and will leave enough space on the sidewalk for walking pedestrians without much hassles.
But three years down, nothing has changed in garawan: plastic sheets back and kiosks occupy the sidewalk.
