KMC syringe stock can last only a day

Kolkata: Kolkata Municipal Corporation (KMC) has reached a syringe hurdle before launching the usual vaccination schedule this week.
KMC has 27,000 syringes that disable automatically that may not take place outside Monday.
The Civic body requires around 30,000 to 35,000 syringes like that every day to run 144 vaccination clinics and 50 50 mega vaccination centers.
The state government, as an emergency step, has asked KMC to buy syringes that turn off automatically from the open market that will be replaced later.
Bengal has been looking for a central help to get 20 lakh syringes like that, the first time expected this week.
Toi has reported that Bengal faces a lack of acute syringes.
The number of syringes obtained by the state is consistent with the number of doses received from the center.
Bengal, however, has registered negative waste, manages more doses than that has been received.
This has resulted in the use of more syringes than that has been provided, causing deficiencies.
Bengal has managed to extract around 16 extra vaccine doses in the last three months of the specified quota using the extra dose given in a bottle to compensate for waste.
When waiting for the center supplying syringes, the state plans to spend RS 1 Crore to get this syringe from the open market to ups and downs on the crisis.
KMC, officials said, have bought 60,000 syringes from the open market in the last few days and are looking for suppliers who can provide bulk supplies in a short period of time.
According to Narayan Swaroop Narayan Narayan State Secretary, the temporary crisis.
He said the country hoped for the arrival of the supply of juled syringes from the center immediately.
“The nature of such a crisis is temporary and we hope to mitigate immediate.
But for now, we have suggested KMC to go for the procurement of syringes from the market to run their vaccination clinics and Mega centers.
We will pay the Civic Agency for procurement That’s in time, “Nigam told Toi.
However, according to the KMC health department official, the Civic body faces a problem in the procurement of syringes because there is inadequate stock in the market.
“We have managed to get 60,000 syringes on two separate days after looking for a syringe like that last week.
There is no guarantee that we will be able to find a large number of syringes next week because there is an inadequate automatic injecting syringe needle in an open market , “said the citizenship official.
“We have stock that will last only for one day.
We need to find new supplies from the country or buy syringes from the private market.
Otherwise we will be forced to suspend our vaccination for now,” said a KMC health service official from Monday and so on, the Civic region vaccination clinic will manage the covishield and the first coviswisxin dose in two shifts.
While the registration counter will open for the first dose recipient at 10 am, the second dose receipt will be called after 2pm.
The Mega KMC vaccination center will also follow the same model.
