Kolkata: Kolkata Metropolitan Development Authority (KMDA) made alternative arrangements in 39 Ghats throughout the city for Puja Chhath.
Authorities on Tuesday held a meeting with KMC, the police and local community representatives about the arrangements being carried out and on the ban on holding the Puja Chhath in Rabindra Sarobar and Sarobar Subhas.
“All protocols followed last year will be strictly adhered to this year -The place All alternative ghats, “said KMDa officials.
It was in 2018 that the National Green Tribunal (NGT) was dismissed allowing the Puja Chhath in Rabindra Sarobar to maintain pollution-free lake water pollution.
However, the state government has submitted a petition last year by appeal to allow CHHAT observed in Rabindra Sarobar and this problem went to the Supreme Court.
However, the court refused to provide an inap on NGT orders, after which KMDa appeared with complicated security settings to maintain the worshiper of the Chhath from Sarobar.
