MADIKERI: Dairy farmers in several Kodagu villages are left in trouble without a veterinarian in animal centers since five years.
No doctor appointed in the centers in seven villages – Shirangala, Hebbale, Torenuru, Kudige, Koodumangaluru, Seetehosuru and Aluvara who have 40 villages – in the last five years despite some of the appeals.
The milk-producing community actively works in Torenuru, Hebbale, Shirangala, Aluvara Siddalingapura, Koodumangaluru and Chikkathuru Village with active cooperation from villagers.
They have hundreds of cows in these villages.
In terms of health problems or to get regular health checks for cattle, farmers must rent a vehicle to transport them to Kushalnagar or Somwarpet Taluk Headquarters which are financial burdens.
The villagers have not yet submitted a memorandum to MLA and the officer concerned to immediately resolve the problem.
