Kodanad Case: Plea in HC Looking for EPS Interrogation, Sasikala

Chennai: As a slugfest of politics over the case of contracted-cum-cum-theft Kodanad continues, two new cases – one preference, and others opposed, further investigation of crime – has been submitted in Madras High Court.
While one case asked for permission to interrogate the former Main Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami, Previously CM J Jayalalithaa’s Confidante VK Sasikala, brother-in-law J.ilavarasi and others in connection with the murder, the other submitted by an ongoing witness was tried in the Ooty Court.
Petition, submitted by Deepu and Santhosh Samy of Thrissur and MS Sathean from Vattanthara to interrogate nine people, including Palaniswami and Sasikala, however, were rejected by the Nilgiris Judge session on April 30.
Affecting rejection, they have now moved the High Court who said the police had submitted a chargesheet in a hurry, and it was difficult to believe that only a few watches and glass dolls had been stolen in the incidence of decomposing a decay.
‘Prime Culprits lives in Kodanad Case’After Dati Jayalalithaa, Kodanad Estate is under the control of Sasikala and Ilavarasi and they themselves are in a position to overthrow the valuables lost after the crime occurred, they said.
When they looked for legal assistance, the carriers of the AIDMK lawyer’s wing office were appointed to help them in doing the case, they said, adding that the whole process had been influenced and monitored by people who held power in the former Ruling Party (AIDMK).
Investigation in this case failed to carry out a transparent investigation and it was sad to leave the culprit, they said.
However, another petition submitted by N Ravi of Coimbatore, a witness prosecution in this case, looked for the initial settlement of the trial, and wanted a daily process so that it could be completed in the specified time.
He said Kanagaraj is known to him, and added: “On April 28, 2017 at 8pm, when I was watching a movie at Brookfield Cinema Theater in Coimbatore, he called me on my cellphone and said he and his friends had committed murder at Kodaadu Estate Bungalow On the way to carry out a robbery.
I suggested that he give up before the police, and Kanagaraj surrendered before Sankagiri DSP.
“Claiming that he has been threatened by various sources that further investigation into this case will occur and that I have to give a witness statement according to the requirements, he said: “I came to understand that in the trial of the murder case above, the prosecution almost checked 41 witnesses …
so far, from April 2021 until now there was even a defense witness examined before the trial court and delay were being searched for various reasons From time to time.
“Therefore, he looked for directions for the examiner In the beginning of the witnesses and settlement of the trial.
On Monday, after urgent mention was made by advice for the Petitioner, Justice M Nirmal Kumar agreed to hear the request on August 24.
