Kolkata: City police investigated several examples of online classes and webinars that were disturbed by obscene messages posted by intruders.
The latest complaints are from educational institutions in Central Kolkata, who claim unknown people have infiltrated the webinar and have posted unpleasant photos, forcing the sudden end.
The webinar was attended by 180 students.
“This complaint has come to us for the past few months.
Every case is being examined,” said DC (Cyber) Bidisha Kalita.
Investigations take time because the login details must be collected and then chased by every Cloud-based video communication application company whose platform suspected of hacking occurs.
In one case, a school located in the North Kolkata peripheral area expelled a boy for harassing fellow students, a girl, during the online class.
Cyber experts and the police have asked the teacher to follow the basic rules to avoid extrusion by outsiders.
As the first step, they suggest, people must avoid sharing links to classes or webinars in the public domain.
The administrator that allows in students or participants also needs to be alert to stop outsiders to enter.
Using a special ID for each class is another way to stop intrusion.
