Kolhapur: In the last four years, five people lost their lives in bison attacks in the Kolhapur district.
Lahas on Saturday night, a 21-year-old young man from Bhuywadi Village was taken by Bison.
Bison, who has deviated from the forest in Panhala, has reached the Panchganga Ghat area.
The animal had retreated, but in Bhuuwadi, it became confused with the crowd and tried to escape.
In the process, it stabbed a young man with his horn.
According to experts, Bison is inherently shy and does not attack itself.
In most fatal attacks in the past recently, it has been observed that animals are fear by many people.
In most cases, while trying to escape, animals, which can lose weight to tons, trample people.
Samrat Kerkar, a wild life expert, said, “Most times, it is a crowd mistake.
People pursue animals instead of leaving them alone to return to their natural habitat.
The incident showed that when bison was pursued, and if the animal can’t Find a way out because of the existence of a water body, trenches or other obstacles, it returns suddenly and can hit anything or whoever blocks.
“Meanwhile, the bison involved in the incident on Saturday night was still not violated on Sunday.
The Ministry of Forestry deployed around 90 personnel to examine the animal and made people aware of their presence.
Sunil Nikam, regional forest officer, said, “We suspect Bison might have returned to his habitat.
It comes from the forest in Panhala.
However, we will continue to track it.
The villagers have immediately called us.
If they see Bison.”
