Kolhapur: Mahalaxmi Temple Gets RS 1.6RC Donation

Kolhapur: Mahalaxmi Temple has received around Rs 1.6 Crore in the Donation Box for the past two months.
The process of calculating the offer received was completed on Friday night.
Donations received in the past two months more than the amount received during the Navaratra period and Diwali last year.
Shivraj Upde, Secretary of Paschim Maharashtra Devasthan Samiti, said, “During Sankranti Makar, the worshipers poured sweet ‘tylgul’ in the donation box.
So, currency notes can be damaged.
Therefore, we have started the calculation process before Sankranti Makar.” ” There were nine donation boxes in the temple location, and 50 people had been deployed to carry out the calculation process for four days, “he said.
With the remaining temples close part of the time because of the Covid situation, and with only Darshan online slots available, the committee expects less donations.
However, worshipers have offered more than they offer during the Navaratra and Diwali period.
After diwali, the calculation is carried out and the number reaches around RS 1.3 Crore.
In the next two months, Rs 1,60.64,000 were received.
Worshipers are not only donated in Indian currencies, but also offer $ 137 from various countries such as America, Canada, Singapore etc.
