Kolhapur saw the search in the robbery, but rose in the murder

Kolhapur: District has witnessed a decrease in the number of crimes such as Dacoity, robbery, forced robbery, home solving, cheating, fraud, and other organized criminal activities.

Between January and November 2021, only 11 cases of Dakoitas were registered as 28 cases registered during the same period in 2019.

However, the number of murders has increased from 41 to 47, and the mass rampage case has risen from 258 to 392.
The authorities claim actions against gangs involved in organized crime have helped reduce the number of crimes.
In the past year, Kolhapur police have requested parts of Maharashtra’s control over organized crime laws (McOCA) to three large gangs with a total of 21 criminals involved in various organized crimes such as dakoity, threatening, murder, combustion etc.

Police District Supervisors Shailesh Balcawade said more gangs were on radar and immediately they would also face charges below McOca.
He said the increase in patrol efficiency had also helped reduce organized crime and ensure confidence.

In the current year, until November, 909 Dens was damaged, compared to 509 Dens damaged in 2019.
