Kolhapur set aside flood misery, prepare for Bappa

Kolhapur: Leaving the bitter memory of Dahsyat and Covid floods, Kolhapur residents began preparations to bring their favorite Bappa home from Thursday night.

Cholhapur Police Shailesh Balcawade said, “Traffic that leads to Shahupuri, Gangawesh and Bapat Camp Kumbhar Galli has been transferred and only important services and vehicles carrying idol Ganesh will be permitted in the area.” About 2,500 police personnel, 1,500 house guards, two teams from Force Action Action, dog squad and bomb disposal forces have been deployed in the city.
The administration has requested Ganesh to arrange vaccination camps.
