Kolhapur: Because of the extraordinary responses from passengers to Kolhapur-Tirupati flight service, operators have now decided to offer daily flight connectivity between two cities from December 1.
At present, flight services to Tirupati on four days a week.
– Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday.
Flight services from Kolhapur to Tirupati starting in 2019 under the UDAAN initiative, where the 75-seat aircraft operated by Indigo Airlines routinely got 50-plus passengers for arrival and departure.
Both cities are a religious center.
There was a belief that someone, who took Darshan at the Sri Vekatswara Swamy Temple in Tirumala at Andhra Pradesh had to bring Darshan from his wife, Goddess Mahalaxmi, in Kolhapur to complete the process.
Frequent Flyer, Sourabh Kulkarni, said, “After visiting the Sri Vekatswara Swamy Temple in Andhra Pradesh, the worshipers received a visit to Dewi Mahalaxmi in Kolhapur, known as Lord Wisnu’s wife.
This is the reason the number of worshipers who arrived and departing from Tirupati is always good.”
