Kolkata: At least 37 people were arrested early on Sunday from a five-star hotel in Kolkata because of partying, opposing the restrictions related to Covid, police said.
Two top class cars and 38 cellphones were among several items confiscated in the attack on Park Hotel in Park Street in the heart of the city, they said.
“Acting on a tip-off, the attack was held at the Park Hotel about 1.15 in the morning and 37 people were arrested from the second and third floor to party with loud music in the midst of covid related limitations,” said a senior police officer Kolkata).
“During the attack, several police officers were arrested and managed,” he added.
Police also confiscated two DJ Pioneer discs, amplifiers, two ballot boxes, DJ light, three hookah, four bottles of liquor and a ‘puria’ marijuana, the officer said.
The case is registered at the Park Street police station under the relevant parts of the IPC and disaster management law, he said.
