Kolkata: With less than two weeks to go to Diwali, 600 kg of crackers confiscated from a truck in Strand Road at Wee Hours Saturday.
This is the second Haul Cracker this year after one before Durga Puja acting on a tip off, officers from the Port Division Special Unit are looking for mini trucks parked on the edge of the road on Saturday.

Truck driver, SK Kaif (18), a Budge Budge resident in 24 South Parts, was arrested for violating the orders of the Calcutta High Court and the police commissioner about the freight of crackers who were banned.
He also can’t produce a SIM.
“A case was arranged in this case at the South Port Police Station under IPC 188, SEC 9 B (1B) Indian explosive law and part 3 (i) 181 of the MV Law,” said DC (Port) Zafar Ajmal Kidwai.
Apart from the nightsee and raids to seize crackers from entering the city, the police said they would also act hard against local sellers.

On the day of Puja-Diwali, prosecution will be taken early to prevent others from being involved in exploding crackers.
