Kolkata: A driver of an ambulance and his aide – both of them barely left their teenagers – had been arrested for allegedly stalking and harassing two women near the busy mouali intersection on Tuesday afternoon.
Traffic police intercepted an ambulance after receiving the depressed SOS from the women and accused the defendant.
This duo is SK Shajada aka SK Shazada (19), living in Dilkhusa Street and Gourab Daktar (18), a resident of Sonarpur.
The ambulance has also been confiscated.
According to Muchipara police and the traffic guard of an estimated, the two women walked towards Mouli from the NRS Hospital when the defendant in the ambulance stopped beside them.
The victims wore their masks and heads closed.
The accusation continued to ask women to express their faces and offered them to lift.
When the victims refused, the defendant made some indecent comments.
The women then approached a sergeant on duty at Mouli Crossing.
Finally, Subhodip Biswas, sent a message about his walkie-talkie.
Civil volunteers at the next intersection – Mouli – stopped the ambulance.
Both of them were taken to the Muchipara police station where they were handed over to the local police.
“Investigations are ongoing and CCTV recordings from the point have been collected to strengthen the victim’s statement,” said an officer.
“We have accused him under the part of the IPC 354D which amounted to stalking.
We will record the woman’s statement before the judge immediately.
The police evidence must ensure that we submit a immediate cost sheet in this matter,” added investigative officers.
