Kolkata: BJP man clashed with PPN police

Kolkata: Bharatiya Janata Party Activist (BJP) clashed with police in Kolkata West Bengal on Monday after they were stopped from taking a rally demanding slash in the price of fuel.
Some workers and the Safron camp leader were detained during a fight, said a police officer.
The party then gave an ultimatum seven days to the country to receive his request.
It threatens to launch a larger movement next week, if the Government of Trinamool Congress (TMC) fails to do it.
On Sunday, BJP said that it would regard the road if the country did not reduce the VAT imposing gasoline and diesel prices, in line with excise steps to cut customs.
The rally is scheduled to cover the distance between the Safron Party office in Central Avenue and the Metro station in Esplanade.
Since morning, the police have installed a barricade outside the BJP office to stop activists from holding a rally.
As soon as the Safron Camp member departed in March, they were prevented from moving forward by the police, following a fight that occurred between the two parties.
“Every time BJP decided to take a general meeting, the Norm Covid-19 was quoted.
However, a few days ago, when TMC took a similar demonstration against the center of the fuel price increase, the norm Covid was clearly not valid.
It seems that TMC is afraid of BJP, and that is why He tried to stop us from taking a demonstration, “said the State President of the Safron Party, said Sukanta Majumdar.
Upholizing it, the opposition leader in the West Bengal Assembly Suvendu Adhikari confirmed that the party would hold his protest march in the state at any cost.
“Not only the center, several other countries have cut taxes to reduce fuel prices, but the TMC government that pretends to be pro-people has not done the same thing.
Their double standards are exposed,” he said.
Then, when talking to reporters, Majumdar said the party would wait for a week and then launch the march to Nabanna if his request did not meet with.
“We give the state government of the ultimatum seven days …
if you do not accept our request, we will take March to Nabanna to press for the same thing,” he said.
Adhikari turned on that the TMC government “has excessive funds” for distribution among local clubs but “cannot cut VAT tariffs because it seems to be pressure on the state treasury”.
“I will write to the prime minister immediately seek an investigation into alleged malpractice in Garb funds disbursed among various clubs.
It is a big fraud,” he said.
Previously, TMC spokesman Kunal Ghosh accused BJP involved in “cheap politics” for this issue.
Maintaining that income manifested from fuel tax by the center is far more than the state, Ghosh further shows that some parity must be maintained.
“BJP pampered itself in cheap politics over fuel prices as apathy-apathy in stemming the price of skyrocketing gasoline, diesel, and LPG has been exposed.
It has been cut off the customs on gasoline and a little diesel, alright! But it’s too little, but It’s too little, too less, “Ghosh said.
The central recently reduced customs for gasoline and diesel each of RS 5 and RS 10.
Some states, including Assam, Odisha and Uttar Pradesh, followed them, cutting VAT rates in different proportions.
