Kolkata: Burj Khalifa Laser Show is suspended

Kolkata: Pandal Durga Puja most hyped in the city, a replica of the skyscraper Iconic Dubai Burj Khalifa made in Sreebhumi, Lake Town, has suspended a spectacular laser show that appears as a show stopper.
The decision to suspend the event came a few hours after several complaints by the airline pilot on Monday night about laser lights disturbed their cockpit when they approached Kolkata’s airport to the ground.
Civil Aviation Regulator Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) mandates the Relief Zone of 18.5 km for laser lights around the airport to prevent the pilot blinded by a laser beam during an important landing phase.
Panja Pandal in Sreebhumi is almost 8.5 km from the runway and next to the aircraft approach.
Puja organizers were led by Minister of State fire Sujit Bose claimed they volunteered to close the laser look on the 145-ft pandal to control many people.
Doctors and locals have expressed fear of the area turning to the Covid zone with Lakh deploying a narrow path that leads to a pandal.
