KOLKATA: A businessman and his friend were allegedly abducted by seven men while they were having dinner at a Kalyani restaurant on Monday.
The kidnappers drove a blue blinker fitted car and introduced themselves as state IB officials.
They demanded a ransom of Rs 5 lakh from the Sujay Biswas, the businessman.
Biswas called another friend for the money and informed him that they were at a banquet hall in Birati.
Police tracked the cellphone tower and arrested the miscreants.
While six were remanded to eight-day police custody, a 70-year-old accused was sent to judicial custody.
