Kolkata: The police will issue a signal from the efficient Kolkata police crowd management protocol during the Puja Durga to control traffic and pedestrians at Park Street on New Year’s Eve.
The large crowd at Park Street, Alipore Zoo and other city hot places on Christmas and Christmas eve boosted the police to redritten their crowd management plan for the end of the week when the larger crowd was expected.
Officers at the police headquarters signaled doubled the police presence on the streets.
Unlike Christmas when Park Street did not enter the traffic after 16:30 and the area turned into a walking zone, the police would not close the traffic there on New Year’s Eve.
Lalbazar also plans to launch the main mask drive.
On Friday, Saturday and Sunday, 493 people were transported because they did not wear a mask, but the police surrendered after a while when the violator numbered thousands.
The police also slumped at irregular behavior, arrested 113 people over the weekend.
The police also slapped 57 cases of drinks and 3,220 people were required to violations of traffic.
Maximum prosecution and arrest occur in South Kolkata and areas bordered by bypass.
The detective department officers also arrested eight people from Park Street on Christmas and seven people from the zoo on Sundays for harassing women and making disturbances near the cage.
The crowd at the zoo on Sunday is 70,000 strong.
The police will also continue nightsty every night.
Even though nights nights have been removed for a lively week, they will return because of a massive increase in cases of drinking drinks and some examples of interference.
Traffic flow plans for this morning will consider pressure on bypass when people travel to Eco Park, Nicco Park and Science City.
There will be additional police presence around the zoo, Victoria Memorial Hall, Park Circus, Exide Crossing and Science City.
“The vehicle to Behala, Alipore and New Alipore can be asked to use the Red Road and Mayo Road from Esplanade and Dalhousie,” said an officer.
