Kolkata: Flight between Kolkata and Dhaka returned after a four-month hiatus with Indigo and Biman Bangladesh operated near flight capacity in the Kolkata-Dhaka sector on Sunday.
But flights at Dhaka-Kolkata’s feet have several passengers.
Most of the passengers on Dhaka flights are bound are those stranded in Kolkata and elsewhere in the country for months.
However, airline officials, said the requirements set by the civil aviation authorities from countries can prove damper and prevent leaflets.
While India has made it mandatory for leaflets who are fully vaccinated to complete the RT-PCR test before departure and on arrival, Bangladesh has made a 14-day quarantine of the house for arrival.
On Sunday, Biman Bangladesh Dash-8 aircraft with a capacity of 70 seats (flight was allowed to operate at a capacity of 90%) flying with only 17 passengers while the flight departed had 67 passengers on the ship.
Indigo flights left Kolkata with 185 passengers and returned to Kolkata at night with 88 passengers.
Air India flights on Monday are also booked for capacity in the Kolkata-Dhaka sector.
