Kolkata: Drink-drive claims one, leaves 4 injured

Kolkata: A man died and four others injured when a private bus hit a car parked illegally on the street near Dhalai in Patuli Bridge Crossing Bypass around 7am.
Among the wounded were two civilian volunteers, Amit Sardar (33) and Arsadul SK (36) that go into the car with the other three, Sirajul Sardar (40), Skul SK (38) and Bhaskar Purkait (36), for debauchery Thursday night.
Amit, who works as a driver of Mograhat Police Station, was behind the wheel of a car that was badly damaged under the impact of the crash.
The fifth was rushed to the General Hospital of the State of Baghajatin where Sirajul declared dead.
The other three shifts to Chittaranjan Hospital while others were released after treatment.
“They were all drunk,” said Awadhesh Pathak, DC (Jadavpur).
This is the third fatal accident due to drink driving in the city in a span of 10 days.
Police say they were traveling in the car had stayed the night in North Kolkata and visit some of the sex workers.
