Padyatra also celebrates 75 years of Indian independence.
January 15, 2022 also marked the 125th anniversary of Vivekananda back from Europe, after which he founded the Ramakrishna mission.
Swami Jnanlakananda, Secretary of the Mission Ramkrishna, who has marked Padusyatra, said, “I offer thanks to Buddhadeb and Mrinal for doing such Himalayan’s duties to Swamiji.” Buddhadeb and Mrinal previously planned a bicycle rally to celebrate these events with the help of 100 miles, a kolkata-based travel agent.
“Later, we decided not to pursue a bicycle rally because of a pandemic situation.
Even though it is risky, we think we will not get this opportunity to celebrate these three events in this way again.
So, we both decided to choose Padyatra instead,” Buddhade said.
“We are glad that Padyatra gets so much attention from every segment of society.
We are also touched by the hospitality and warmth of the locals who attracted interest in our efforts,” he said.
When asked about their celebration plan after reaching Netaji’s house, Buddhadeb said, “We have not planned anything.
We want to interact with the locals and involve them in the legacy of our national hero.” On Tuesday night, the duo stopped at Bhadrak.
Swarajit Roy, who helped the Duo set Padusyatra, said, “Both of them live in tents at night and along the way to stop in various places to interact with locals, spread awareness and distribute pamphlets.
