Kolkata: The number of vaccine recipients has dropped sharply across the post-festival private hospital.
This decline has been sharper than the last in September and has left a private hospital that is worried even as a burst in reception has been reported this week.
The RN Tagore International Institute of Cardiac Sciences (RTIICS), which will record between 500 and 600 doses of up to two weeks before the festival, has seen a stable amount because Durga Puja approaches.
“We get around 120 to 130 recipients for the past three days,” said R Venkatesh, regional director (east), Narayana Health.
First, it is a change in government policy to limit private hospitals from conducting inoculation camps outside the location that have led to a reduction in personal CVC footsteps.
Then, the government opens more CVCs managed by the state to offer a free vaccine that reduces the number of voters in private CVC.
Medica Superspecialty Hospital, which vaccinated nearly 5,000 receivers a day in June, July and August, now only has around 40 to 50 recipients who drip for Jab.
“The decline in walking starts from August-end.
Now, we provide around 60 doses a day.
Because this drastic decline in footsteps we have closed our vaccination center at the Jadavpur Stadium and the drive is being carried out only from the hospital,” said Chief Group Medica Alok Roy.
Before puja, around 70 to 80 recipients took Jab in Fortis Hospital every day.
After the festival, around 10 switches a day.
“This must happen when the number of people who will buy a vaccine shrink.
And now most are the second dose recipient,” said CEO of Peerless Hospital Sudipta Mitra.
The Amri Hospital group used to provide 5,000 to 6,000 doses in June-July.
This count has dropped to 450-500 doses.
At present, the three units are united by vaccinated between 100 and 150 receivers a day.
“The decrease in vaccination is largely due to massive drives carried out by the government, NGOs and private organizations.
The festive season and rain are other reasons,” said Debasish Dhar, Vice President Group, ILS Hospital who saw about 40% of the CVC fall.
