Kolkata: To encourage people to take the covid vaccine dose, South Dum Dum Municipality plans to enable relaxation of 25% on unpaid property tax if all household family members provide their vaccination certificate.
Civil officials said formal proposals would be placed to the state government to be approved.
“There are many who have not paid their tax contributions.
We cannot provide relaxation in the current amount of tax.
But to encourage people to complete the dose of their vaccine, 25% relaxation in their unpaid tax contributions (from the previous quarter, if any) will Granted if an assessor can prove the status of vaccination settlement of all family members, “said Dum Selatan.
Dum Civic officials added that the letter to the proposal was being forwarded to the state government authority to be approved.
