Kolkata girls are not permitted to take a flight for a delay of 3-min

Kolkata: A 21-year-old student who had booked a flight to travel from Delhi to Kolkata to meet his sick grandfather, left stranded and cried at Delhi airport on Friday after the land crew allegedly tore the boarding pass.
AI officials said complaints were being investigated and the response was expected shortly after the probe.
“Strict actions will be taken towards the person concerned, including termination of services from Indian Air pool, if the complaint is found correctly,” the official said.
The incident occurred after Akshara Das, a third year student at Miranda Hall, was made to wait at the AI counter for half an hour after being rejected by the hostel because he was three minutes late to reach the check-in counter to deposit his luggage.
.
According to him, he was in a long queue for more than an hour and did not hear the call to tell the passengers to move forward before the flight was finally closed.
“I was booked on AI 0764 flights who departed Delhi Airport at 4.5 hours.
So I arrived at the airport at 2.30 in the afternoon.
Even though I was checking in, I had to join the queue at the check-in counter to deposit my luggage.
By the time I reached the counter, it was 3.58 a night and I was told the process was closed, “he told.
The DGCA norm requires passengers to check in at least one hour before the flight.
What happened after leaving him was shaken and crying.
When Akshara begged staff members about his case, he was asked to stand near another counter where other passengers were faced with the same difficulties waiting.
When no one attended them until 4:30 a.m., he approached the ground staff at the counter.
The latter apparently asked for his boarding pass, tearing it and roughly told him that he didn’t travel.
Passenger service for AI at Delhi airport was handled by Aisat who was sad and sobbing, he headed to the AI ticket counter to file a complaint when airport officials asked what the problem was and if he had a web check-in on the phone.
He then asked him to go to security checks.
There he asked if the bag he was carrying would be allowed for the flight and was told it should not be a problem.
But he was stopped at the hostel gate and was told by the airline crew he could walk but without a bag.
Disgusted by the way he was treated, Akshara filed a complaint at the AI Airport ticket counter and returned to his accommodation in Delhi.
“The experience was very bad so maybe I would never travel with AI again.
I have missed a flight without my fault but was treated like a criminal,” he told.
