Kolkata: True from Church to school and NGO, rhetoric on Sunday turned around the day of grandparents.
The second week of September was traditionally dedicated to grandparents to spread awareness among families and adolescents to entertain senior family members and served them from their loneliness.
The message was sent to the parish by the North Indian Church and the Roman Catholic Church to remind parishy about their responsibilities to parents.
The e-change school board is full of loving messages from grandchildren on Sundays and programs marching from Monday to the end of the month to bring grandparents to online classes for the celebrations dedicated to them.
Many schools also sent gifts to grandparents.
Schools such as DPS Newtown, Lakshmipat Singhania Academy, The Heritage and St Augustine’s Day School, Shyamnagar, have lined up programs from Monday.
Songs, dances, dramas and messages have been trained for direct streaming.
In DPS Newtown, directly from the nursery and so on children will appear for grandparents, telling them how special they are in every milestone they have achieved so far.
“We make children dress up as grandchildren and grandparents in dramas that have a special message for seniors.
We look forward to their reaction,” said Rai Mukhopadhyay, the principal.
Heritage and Lakshmipat Singhania Academy have events that are lined up later this month.
Some community initiatives, who focus on parents, such as Aarambh, are launched on Sundays, where seniors will get a free platform to gather, do, chat, and share, said Debapriya Dutt, who has worked among seniors for a long time .
