Kolkata: The detective department on Thursday arrested one of the strongest strong people from Kasba – Bisang Poddar aka Sona Pappu (40) – from the apartment complex that was gated in Kaikhali.
Pappu, who had been news for the past two months after it was seen running with his revolver, allegedly involved in the incident of the bombing in the area and planned a brave attack on his rival Munna Pandey outside the presidential prison with 25 colleagues.
The arrest finally ended the two-week hide and seek he played with the police since his name appeared in a gang war outside the presidency prison.
The previous anti-rowdy squad caught 25 of his colleagues but had missed him with a mustache.
“We have arrested him in connection with the attack outside the prison.
He has been charged with murder attempts, riots and weapons,” said Murlidhar Sharma CP (crime).
The police produced it at the Bankshall Court on Friday and seek police prisoners.
Pappu became a name that had to be taken into account after his involvement in the clash to control the BLALLYGUNGE RAIL YARD in 2015.
The next big step came in a murder case in 2017 where he was named in three separate fir.
He has 17 cases against him.
