Kolkata: Three hospital chain units have been told to conduct a free health check of underprivileged children and offer free health food for each of the children attending the camp.
The regulatory commission of the clinical formation of West Bengal (WBCERC) on Wednesday directed the Amri Hospital group to hold such camps, following three complaints of overbilling against each of the three units.
Judgment comes a day after Belle Vue Clinic feeds to 170 residents of the Little of the Poor Sisters, following the health panel command after a patient, who was hospitalized, complained about the nurse.
Last year, WBCERC had directed Medica Superspecialty to provide boiled eggs for malnourished children in the Park Circus area after the establishment was found to have violated Covid advisors.
According to the Commission on Wednesday, the hospital has collected Rs 28.47 lakh patients for care of 25 days in the Dhakuria unit and another RS 18.29 lakh for a 24-day stay at the Mukkndapur unit.
The commission, however, did not determine the number of third patient bills that took advantage of 15-day care at the Salt Lake facility.
The three patients aged and treatment needed for age-related complications, including Long ICU receipts, between December 2020 and May this year.
The family then filed a complaint against overbilling.
“We found three hospital units did not have a uniform level, showed disparity between three units.
During this period, many patients have used treatment on three units and we assume, the bill must be similar in those cases, even if the rest did not file a complaint , “said WBCERC Chairperson Justice (Pension) Ashim Kumar Banerjee.
“We direct three hospital units to arrange a free pediatric counseling check-up in three nearby slums once a week for eight weeks.
Every child must be given a health food package.
If there are children under 12 years it is found to need treatment at the hospital, they must Ensuring free care.
“The Commission sets Duttabad and Panchanantala / Govindapur and asked the hospital to identify the third slum.
The hospital is also asked to restore part of the care bill, collectively adds Rs 41,000 to 1.6 lakh.
The contested hospital, said the bill is directly proportional to the number of days spent in the facilities and severity of the disease; When a patient with complications spends a significant time in a critical care environment, the spectrum of tests and procedures will mean a higher bill.
“While we respect the role of the commission in arranging private health service providers, we cannot accept their verdict based on the belief that the bill amount is more important than the number of days spent by a patient in the hospital.
We feel unfair and unfortunate about the assumption of pre-emptive commissions that over -Tagihan is the norm at the AMRI hospital, even if the patient does not register a complaint.
Most people are treated at Amri because of the immediate service and clinical results that we provide, “said the release from the hospital chain.
The hospital has not received a copy of the order.
