Kolkata mall closer to pre-pandemic footsteps

Kolkata: After the celebration was subdued last year because Covid, people shopped wholeheartedly.
Pandemic signs have faded in the mall with properties that record legs and sales that are comparable to 2019 before the pandemic.
At least two malls, management said they recorded sales that matched the appropriate period two years ago while the other two said sales were only sheasts below 2019 and were sure they would pursue in October, if it wasn’t September.
“The footsteps and sales are very phenomenal.
The last celebration season was damaged by the first wave.
People do not want to be left behind this year.
Because there are talks from the third wave, customers do not want to wait long to arrive and re-dampen spirits.
They have touched the mall earlier And we have seen a stable foot increase since last month.
The sales period also did a little to attract customers.
August has become the best month in more than one and a half years and we hope that September and October will be better, “said Ramesh Pandey, Director Wholetime Ambuja Neotia Realty who operates two city center malls in Salt Lake and New City.
In August 2020, recovery from the previous year was only around 40-45%.
Sales and footsteps have been picked up in September and October, which lead to the recovery of 65-70% until diwali before the situation returns to Post Post 2021 because of the second wave.
High sales last month even caused mall operators that attract lease concessions offered to retailers because of low transactions due to the impact of covid on the bridge and change.
In South City, the biggest mall in the East, recovery has been more than 80% against August 2019.
“Forbid last week which was a little boring because Rakhi, the election this weekend was very large.
Retailers and restaurants happy.
There is a lot of good excitement and optimism at This sector, “said Mall City South Vice-President Manmohan Bagree.
He expects current growth trends to continue and cause 100% recovery at the end of September or early October.
“With a cinema, it’s also fine, the food business and drinks sway.
The pressure to serve customers in the mall is very high so we have stopped shipping,” Bagree said.
Mall Management in Acropolis said sales had soared, leading to almost 90% of recovery of the appropriate month in 2019.
“Vaccination and several steps by the government to control Covid has worked with miracles.
With low cases, people have gained confidence To step out.
At this speed, we will definitely recover full in September, “said Mall Head K Vijayan.
Two other malls in the city – Mani Square and Quest – have recorded 70% -65% -65% recovery.
“This business is very good with food & drinks done well,” said Mani Group Director Sudarshana Gangulee.
In the search, the recovery is slow because the net wealth client is still very careful about stepping out.
“I will peg.” Recovery at 60% -65%.
If the third wave does not occur, we will continue to improve through Durga Puja and Diwali.
We are all very happy with footsteps and businesses, “said Quest Mall VP Sanjeev Mehra.
