Kolkata Metro Bids Adieu to Non-AC Rakes

Kolkata: Metro train, Kolkata, on Sunday formally say goodbye to non-AC rakes, some of them have been operating since the beginning as the first subway center in 1984.
The Kolkata Metro, which began operating today on In 1984, organized an exhibition ‘along the memory lane’ at Mahanayak Uttam Kumar station to mark the departure of non-AC rakes.
“As part of separation, we have held a photo exhibition that will describe the past, now and the future of Metro Railway,” said Manoj Joshi General Manoj Joshi.
He said it was an opportunity to revive the moments that the city had shared with the Metro train, which has become an integral part of the life of the community.
“Some work expansion is underway, and in two to three years, the new corridor will begin to function,” Joshi said.
The last non-AC Rake Metro was shipped to Noapara Carshed from Mahanayak Uttam Kumar station by Joshi.
The Metro train, Kolkata, who started the service 37 years ago between Esplanade and Bhowanipore (at Netaji Bhavan Station), a distance of 3.40 km, now covers 31.3 km.
Construction work is underway at the new Garia Airport, the route Joka-BBD bags apart from Metro Barat East, some of those who have been operating.
