Kolkata: With a relaxing night limitation of the country, Metro Railway has decided to increase night operation on the north-south lane for one hour from Monday.
It has added more services, too, taking the total number of trains a day to 240 from Monday.
The operating hours will now from 7:30 a.m.
to 10 a.m., and commuting will get the last train from the terminal station at 9pm instead of 8:00.
Because footsteps have crossed 2 lakh during the past week, the operator on Friday adds eight trains and changes the frequency of peak hours from 6 minutes to 5 minutes.
The Metro will run the last train from Dum Dum and Kavi Subhas Station until 9pm from Monday.
The last train from Dakshineswar station will be 8.48 a night.
However, the first train will depart at 7.30 in the morning as usual.
GM train Manoj Joshi said, “When the country announced the easing of night limitation, we decided to extend the curfew.” Of the 240 services, 161 will ply between Kavi Subhash and Dakshineswar.
