Kolkata: The day before the reviews about the possibility of a more stringent Covid steps extension, Kolkata twin cities and Bidnannmagar saw a big leap in the micro detention zone.
This shows that the government can continue more stringent restrictions for more time because of the increase in Covid cases.
The number of micro detention zones in Kolkata has risen from 29 to 44, an increase in 15 micro detention zones.
Similarly, the micro detention zone under Bidhannagar Municipal Corporation has increased to 15.
There are also four micro detention zones in the new city.
According to the revised list, there are now 125 micro detention zones in 24 North Parganas.

While South Dum Dum Municipality has 14 zones, Barrackpore Municipality has 17 zones.
