Kolkata Municipal Corporation Seal in Doorstep Vax Drive

Kolkata: Bedridden due to spinal cord injury, Lake View Road Resident Dipti Mukherjee has given hope to get the Covid vaccine.
His son Diptiman Mukherjee, who worked in a private company, had run from the pillar to the post to regulate septuagenarian vaccination, but in vain.
Likewise, Octogenarian Amit Ganguli, although very capable of moving, it is not durable.
Officers of the Pension State Government – Regent residents – do not have the courage to go to the Covid Vaccination Center (CVC) near his home and queue for shots.
“Waiting for the queue is difficult.
But I am more afraid of catching infection while waiting for inoculation,” Ganguli said.
For Mukherjee, Ganguli and thousands of parents, weak, beds or sick people in bed or navel in the city who have not been able to take vaccines even though they are eligible for shooting since March 1, Kolkata Municipal Corporation (KMC) will now manage the shot at the door they.
Previous efforts by the environmental coordinator to offer vaccination of doors in Bhowanipore had been shot down by Civic health officials last month.
The AT-Home Vaccination Scheme was introduced by Ashim Bose, the Trinamool Ward coordinator in several environments chosen by Bhowanipore.
However, Knight KMC slams the brakes on the vaccination program quoting that the scheme has no official approval.
This time, the Civic body has decided to extend the facilities throughout the city.
The KMC health team will visit their homes that are lying in bed and cannot get jab from the government or the center of personal vaccination.
The Civic body vaccination team will also reach residents who have crossed 80 and are too weak to visit the Covid vaccination clinic or afraid to find a crowd.
The source at the KMC health department said the setting for the roll-out of the specific door vaccination scheme was Comp-Lete and the Civic body would start the process at the beginning of next week.
According to the rules designed by the KMC Health Department, the family of citizens will be asked to approach the nearest KMC vaccination center and order ‘vaccination slots at home’ after providing evidence of age if the person is more than 80 or a medical certificate if the person is lying on the bed or seriously ill.
After checking the certificate, the medical officer will order the slot and repair the date for the recipient, depending on the availability of vaccines.
A photocopy of Proof of Government ID – Aadhaar, PAN, Voter Card or Passport – Can be submitted when ordering a slot.
According to men from the KMC (BoA) administrator board, Firhad Judge, vaccination scheme-home is the need for hours as helpless citizens have requested a Civic body to offer a kind of drug.
“We have decided to introduce vaccination schemes – in-house given the situation of those who cannot visit our clinic because of various types of obstacles.
We are asking for cooperation from residents to make a successful scheme,” said the judge on Saturday.
