Kolkata: Scottish Church College has ignored the cost of nine students who have lost one or both parents to Covid-19 for all the upcoming semesters, into the first lecture in the city to take such a step.
Applications of all nine students are accepted and they don’t need to pay fees from the time they make the application.
Students will get financial assistance almost everything between RS 17,000 and Rs 38,000 per semester depends on the subjects they learn.
A student pursues post-graduation while the rest is in various semester UG courses.
“The neglect of costs for the coming semester is small movements by universities to provide some financial assistance to these students,” said Madhumanjari Mandal, Principal.
Jadavpur University students, University Presidences and Calcutta University have demanded neglecting costs.
Many colleges decided not to raise this year’s costs, but there was no decision taken to free semester fees.
But Cu has ignored the costs of UG and PG students.
