Kolkata: part of a four-corner pedestrian subway in Bangwa Bangla Gate Crossing in a new city that connects Rabindra Tirtha with a Smart Plaza at the end of the main artery road everything will be opened.
Hidco plans to open the subway this weekend.
Officials said the artist team was carrying out mural artwork on the wall of the interior on one side of the subway to be completed on Friday.
“We hope to open the subway at the end of the month.
The interior wall of one side of the subway will have a beautiful mural artwork based on old and new kolkata to provide commuters running along the subway corridor,” said an Hidco official.
Across the wall, where mural art work is being carried out, the authorities plan to have a small book, newspaper, and dry food kiosks.
“This will not only provide a sense of security for those who will use the corridor subway, especially at night, but will also drive commuters to stop and buy books, magazines or dried food on the road,” said an official.
Hidco also plans to involve agents to paint mural artwork on other pedestrian subway walls in the new city.
Hidco officials said that working on the subway on three other corners of the Gate Bangla Crossing was also active.
