Kolkata: New Metro Medha Rake starts rolling

Kolkata: Metro Railway got the 16th Rake Medha on Wednesday, which left Dum Dum for the Kavi Subhas station terminal on his first commercial trip at 12.06 in the afternoon.
It starts rolling for a trip down again at 11:10 a.m.
Metro now has 29 Rakes for Line 1 or Dakshineswar-Kavi Subhas corridor.
All air-conditioned.
Rakes Medha comes from an integral coach factory near Chennai.
13 The remaining older, made by Bhel.
Metro or East 2 line, on the other hand, has 14 BEML-MAKE GARU.
Thus, the new Car Railway roots now exceed the number of “prone to furnishings” older.
“Seven new trains, made in ICF near Chennai, have arrived since September 2020 and is part of the operational fleet.
Two more will arrive soon,” said a Metro official.
Metro currently focuses on getting Rakes Medha because the train does not show interest in getting a Chinese rake which should replace the operator’s aging fleet.
